When to Consider Diagnostic Imaging — Allied Medical Center
WHEN TO VISIT

When Should You Consider Diagnostic Imaging?

Radiology scans may be performed following a detailed discussion with the referring physician.

Persistent Pain or Symptoms

If you are experiencing ongoing discomfort, unexplained abdominal pain, or recurring headaches, imaging can pinpoint the exact underlying cause.

Injury or Physical Trauma

Following a fall, accident, or sports injury, fast and accurate imaging is essential to evaluate fractures, joint damage, or soft tissue tears.

Lumps, Swelling, or Abnormalities

Any unexplained masses, abnormal swelling, or physical changes require prompt ultrasound, MRI, or CT evaluation to ensure an accurate diagnosis.

Chronic Condition Monitoring

Regular imaging is vital for tracking the progression of existing diseases, evaluating treatment success, or monitoring cardiovascular and digestive health.

Preventive Health Screening

Proactive scans such as mammograms, bone density assessments (DEXA), or full-body evaluations catch potential issues long before symptoms appear.

Diagnostic Imaging

Frequently Asked Questions

What diagnostic imaging services do you offer at Allied Medical Center?

We offer a full range of Diagnostic Imaging Services in Dubai, including MRI, AI-powered 512-slice CT scans, ultrasound, digital X-ray, 3D mammography, DEXA bone density scans, echocardiography, fluoroscopy, and image-guided diagnostic procedures.

When should I have a diagnostic imaging test?

Your doctor may recommend diagnostic imaging if you have persistent pain, injuries, unexplained symptoms, lumps, chronic medical conditions, or require preventive health screening. Imaging helps diagnose conditions accurately and supports timely treatment.

Do I need a referral for an MRI, CT scan, or ultrasound?

Some imaging examinations require a physician referral, while others may be booked directly depending on the test and your clinical needs. Our team can advise you before scheduling your appointment.

What is the difference between an MRI, CT scan, and ultrasound?

An MRI provides detailed images of soft tissues, joints, and the brain. A CT scan is commonly used for trauma, internal organs, and emergency conditions, while ultrasound is ideal for evaluating soft tissues, abdominal organs, pregnancy, and blood flow without radiation.

Are your MRI and CT scans safe?

Yes. Our advanced imaging systems follow international safety standards. MRI uses no ionizing radiation, while CT scans use carefully controlled radiation doses to provide accurate diagnostic information when clinically appropriate.

How long does a diagnostic imaging appointment take?

The duration depends on the examination. Ultrasound and X-ray appointments are usually completed quickly, while MRI and CT scans may take longer depending on the area being examined and the type of study.

How quickly will I receive my imaging results?

Our experienced consultant radiologists provide accurate image interpretation and timely reporting to ensure your referring physician receives results as quickly as possible for prompt treatment planning.

Why choose Allied Medical Center for Diagnostic Imaging in Dubai?
